As in, whoa, dang, my January is busy! All the positive vibes we put out there last year (when we thought we might be out business and no one bothered to tell us) were apparently just echoing around the universe, amplifying one another until they were ready to come crashing down on our desks this month. Which, hooray!! Totally, hooray! But also, oh man – I’ll be in that corner over there sucking my thumb and crying.
We’ve gone from zero to sixty thousand in a matter of weeks. 3 huge projects for 3 different clients, plus a smaller, online project for yet ANOTHER client, lots of travel, scheduling each day down to the MINUTE so we get everything done – this is gonna be one crazy month.
And yet, I’d always prefer to be too busy than not busy enough. Several of my friends have gently suggested that perhaps my resting stress level is a bit higher than most other people’s STRESSED stress rate. In any case, I do love a challenge. And this month will be one of those.
Honestly? The one thing I’m most worried about is Abby. I know she hates it when I travel. I have proof. The other day she was playing with her new dollhouse when she announced that the mommy doll had to go to Chicago and promptly flung the little plastic creature across the room. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy, that did.
She’s having some troublewith temper and mood swings and periods of transition anyway lately (no, I DON’T know where she might get that from, thankyouverymuch.) And putting everything in flux as much as we are going to is unlikely to help matters. So I plan to steal Abby-Mommy time whenever and wherever I can. We have a rockin’ Abby mix in my iPhone we play on the way to and from school, including songs that make her announce “Mommy you sing dis song to me EVERY NIGHT!!” We play the new board games she got for Christmas (and the Princess and the Frog Wii game we bought her after Christmas). And I’ll do my best not to let my stress/mania/craziness impinge on her routine too much.
Why are you giving me that funny look?
