Let’s throw a sick kid into the mix! Why not?
As if she read this blog and decided that the best way to get some QT with Mommy would be to stay home from school, Abby did just that. I got the fateful call yesterday morning in between tearing my hair out and sobbing violently on my keyboard. “Um, Missy, this is Abby’s teacher. Shes’ been, um , napping all morning and her temperature is around 100.9.” Great, just great.
Jan (AKA the Angel of Mercy) picked her up and brought her home and she slept under Grandma’s desk for a while. Then she took a 4 hour nap. And now she’s upstairs with Daddy, watching videos and drinking OJ. Feeling all better, mind you, but I can’t send her back until she’s fever-free for 24 hours.
Hmmmm. Maybe I could show up at her classroom at 4:45 this afternoon since she hasn’t had a temp since she woke up from her epic nap yesterday. Nah, I’ll just score a little extra snuggle time today.
