Out like a lamb, baby!!

We had the wettest March on record here in NY. Thank the Lord above that our basement didn’t flood or anything wretched like that. We lost a couple trees in the storms (including on that’s IN the pond – the ducks kind of dig it, though) but none hit the house. And after all that rain, the SUN IS SHINING, BABY!!

It’s going to hit 70 degrees today, unless the weatherman is playing some cruel April Fool’s joke. And it will be in the 70′s right up through Monday. And in my world that means that my rather impulsive purchase of a sleeveless Easter dress for a particular Miss Abby will most likely turn out ok in the end.

Let me assure you that this dress has caused me no little worry. With the crappy weather, I was worried about the cute little white patent leather mary janes I’d purchased to go with the dress. I worried about the pollen falling on the stupid cream-colored shrug. I fretted over mud somehow flying in and staining the hem of the lovely off-white hem. And oh yeah. The fact the dress is cream colored and all of Abby’s tights are WHITE. Can you imagine if I’d had to put her in white tights with an off-white dress? The HORROR! My Grandma Grace would have turned over in her grave!

Luckily all of that sartorial angst is largely wiped away by the huge ball of gas currently burning its way through the cloud cover. So I can turn my attention to much more important matters. Questions like: “Will my beignet dough make it through a second freeze/thaw cycle?” Only time will tell, my friends. Only time will tell.
