Last night – or early this morning, depending on how you think of it – when it was beyond apparent that that decaf coffee was NOT, in fact decaffeinated, I started thingink about all thing things I wrote about here in March. You know, all 4of them. And I figured that I made it sound like March just sucked as a month.
Which, come to think of it, it did. (Except for the first 10 days when we were in Disney World. That was awesome.) So here’s what’s happened in March and how those same topics look now that we have a little April to play with.
The pictures we lost because the external hard drive ate them? Are starting to come back from the great beyond. Brian has found copies of a few of them buried deep within the recesses of my laptop and for that I am eternally grateful. The even better part was when I realized that the prized picture I took – the one of Abby standing in front of Cinderella’s Castle all by herself on her actual birthday had never been on that stupid hard drive in the first place. I had taken it with Mom’s camera. And there it was, safe and sound on the memory card.
As for the child’s long-term educational plans, she’s all signed up for Pre-K at the more challenging school. I’m pretty happy with the decision overall, if still smarting a bit about the whole process. Abby is child number 16 out of 18 spaces, so I’m glad we didn’t waste any more time dickering over finding a *perfect* solution, since I’m pretty sure that doesn’t exist.
The pain turns out to be another flare-up of my psoriatic arthritis. I am officially 60 years old, even if by drivers’ license says I’m only 33. However, being pumped full of enough steroids to disqualify me from Olympic competition is a good thing. For the first time in 2 weeks, I felt good enough to take a family walk on Saturday and do some yard work (and yard playing) on Sunday. Now we wait and see if the steroids kick this flare-up completely to the curb or if it comes back as soon as they’re out of my system.
Oh and the Lady Gaga station still rocks it out.
So, how’s April treating you so far?
