A la Roma
I’m in Rome for a conference this week. It’s the first time I’ve traveled overseas without a family member or pack of Girl Scouts and it’s been pretty exciting so far. The flight was relatively uneventful, except for the baby in the row ahead of me who decided 3-5 a.m. Rome time was a perfect time to cry inconsolably. Sleep was not really an option, so I watched “Crazy, Stupid Love” which was actually pretty cute.
When I landed and got to baggage claim, I saw a friend who’s attending this same conference and who’d been on my flight. We caught the train and made our way to our hotel together, chatting companionably the whole time.
This hotel’s a trip. It’s ultramodern, with a definite emphasis of form over function. They do serve a lovely Caprese salad in the bar, however!
