Probably because I have just not had it in me to grocery shopping in (mumble, mumble) weeks, so we’ve been doing a lot of eating out. Or maybe because of the new campaign to get McDonald’s to get rid of the Ronald McDonald character. Possibly, it’s because I’ve been watching [...] There’s been a lot of talk lately about whether or not the world is going to end right around 6:00 p.m. EDT this Saturday night. People have predicted worldwide earthquakes, the raising of the dead and other major events which rival any other Saturday night in your typical freshman college dorm. (And is it [...] NOTHING! And yet, the always lovely and never-overdone People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have decided to run a contest wherein they will give away one free, human vasectomy “in honor of” National Infertility Awareness Week. Granted, after the hue and cry of the infertiles who rose up en masse and basically told [...] My friend Pam invited me to a book reading and Q&A with Peggy Orenstein whose new book Cinderella Ate My Daughter just came out this week. We talked for the duration of the trip into the wilds of Connecticut, throughout our lovely, kid-free Mexican dinner, and the whole way home about how we want [...] I have had the week from hell. I’d been having a conflict with someone that made my stomach hurt. I don’t want to write about it here (which is honestly a new thing for me – I write about EVERYTHING here.)
