I’ve told this to almost every child I’ve ever met. You didn’t get the cookie and the cake? Life is choices, you chose the cake. You spent your time playing on the swings and didn’t have enough time for the slide? Life is choices, you chose the swings. It’s as an [...] Technically, Brian and I have never celebrated Father’s Day together. At least not since he became a father – which was, incidentally, right around the time I became a mother. Funny, that. The reason is simple and complex all at once. The simple part is that we’re just not real huge on the “Mother’s Day” [...] The other night (you know, the one where there were no hockey or baseball games Brian wanted to watch – and no cooking or home improvement shows for me), Brian and I actually turned off the tv, sat at the kitchen table and played a card game. It was wonderful and felt all old-timey, [...] I love to sing. I sing all the time – shower, car, grocery store – I’m always and forever making up songs (Abbalina Ballerina!), writing new words to an old favorite (There was an Abby had a cat and Daisy was her name-aye – D-A-I-S-Y…) or trying to remember all of the lyrics to [...] Today marks 5 months since Dad died. It feels very strange that so much time has passed and in another way, it is odd that so little has gone by. It’s not even half a year, but we’ve lived through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and we’re about to go through Easter. Honestly, it’s not [...] Watch this. Just wach it. Get the tissues. I’ll wait. This? This is why I’m becming so passionate about good presentations. Well designed, well thought out, well executed.
