Brian and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this week. This story is part of how that happened. I first laid eyes on him across a smoky dance floor in Paris. Abby got out on the wrong side of the bed yesterday morning. Nothing seemed to be going quite right for her. She knows Grandma Jane and Grandma Judy and loves them both dearly. And yet, after 15 minutes in her presence, she took to calling Brian’s step-Grandma (who she had never even heard of before) “Grandma Doris”.
